Gallery: Cayuga 69传媒 girl's horse riding dream fulfilled by Make-A-Wish, partners
Carolyn Symeon, 20, of Locke, has been passionate about horses since she was a little girl.
She wanted to ride competitively, but her dream was interrupted when she was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia at the age of 17.
When Carolyn learned recently that she would be granted a wish by Make-A-Wish Central New York, she knew exactly what she wanted: a new sand ring to continue her equestrian training.
During a ceremony Tuesday at the Symeon family's home, that wish was made a reality.
The family was joined by Make-A-Wish and community partners Barrett Paving Materials, Seneca Stone Corporation, Longhorn Trucking Co., Leitz Trucking, Montroy Development LLC, Parks Paving, Empire Realty, Walnut Ridge Dairy and Rustin Farm & Fencing Co., who all helped give Carolyn a ring where she can train in hopes of one day competing.聽
